The U12 Girls continued their outstanding cup form with a battling 4-2 victory over Abbey Rangers reserves in the League Cup quarter final.
Faced with a large, and very physical Abbey team, the girls stormed straight into the attack, only to see Abbey break away and score the first goal against the run of play. The girls came straight back however, and Sarah who was demonstrating some good old fashioned wing play down the left flank grabbed an equaliser. We continued to dominate, but incredibly, with Hanna temporarily off getting mud removed from her eye, Abbey broke through and scored again 1-2. Brook grabbed an equaliser just before half time and we went in on level terms.
The second half was one way traffic, and deservedly we scored twice more through Brook, with the fourth one a memorable looping volley. This was a real blood and thunder cup tie, and the girls all showed great skill and tenacity to see their way into their second semi-final of the season. Alex Beavan who reffed did a great job keeping the physical stuff just the right side of the line.
A great day all round!
